I am new to Young Living Essential Oils, but not new to essential oils. Over the years I bought oils like peppermint, orange, or others for craft projects, just because I liked the way they smell. However, the oils usually just sat in my kitchen cabinet without being used. This past Christmas I got into making sugar scrubs and bath salts using essential oils. I found fun recipes on the Internet and began filling up my Pinterest board with ideas. Then for Christmas I received my first diffuser. I found myself wanting more oils, but not just any oils. I wanted the best oils my money could by.
In January I was invited to a 101 Essential Oils Class where I learned about Young Living Essential Oils and the Everyday Essential Oil Collection. Three oils stood out to me the most, PanAway, Thieves, and Lemon. I had to have those oils! I knew I would use those oils everyday after hearing the benefits. The other oils I wasn’t so sure about. But I thought if I was going to buy the three, I might as well get the whole set, since it was a good deal. I ordered my Premium Starter Kit, and waited in anticipation for my essential oils to come in the mail.
PanAway: My first favorite! PanAway is a blend of Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove, and Peppermint essential oils. I knew I needed this one since I have occasional tenderness from excercise. Just the smell of PanAway helps to ease the occasional tension in my shoulders. I like to wear PanAway in a necklace or put it on the spots where my muscles are tight after exercise.
Diffuser necklace: Put one to two drops of PanAway on a piece of leather in a diffuser necklace.
Stiff neck: Rub one or two drops of PanAway on the back of neck.
Roll-On: Put 30 drops of PanAway in glass roller bottle and top off with a carrier oil. I used fractionated coconut oil, but you can also use grape seed oil, almond oil, or Young Livings V6 oil.
Lemon: When I went to my first 101 Essential Oils Class, I learned that Lemon essential oil can help you focus and be alert when studying. I am a full time homeschooling mom, but I am also am a full time college student. I take online classes after my children go to bed each night. I got into the habit of drinking cup after cup of energy drinks and coffee to stay alert while studying. When I left the 101 class, my friend sent me home a sample of Lemon oil and I put it in my diffuser that evening to study. I could tell a difference in my ability to concentrate right away.
I drink 2 to 4 drops of Lemon in my water each day*. I also mix it with Peppermint and Lavender to help with occasional minor congestion.
*Be very careful and do your research before ingesting any oils.
Thieves: This is another favorite of mine. I love to diffuse Thieves when I am cleaning my house. The smell of Thieves reminds me of Christmas with its blend of Cloves, Cinnamon Bark, Rosemary, Lemon, and Eucalyptus Radiata essential oils. I make my own Thieves Household Cleaner to clean my house. My children like to help me clean, and using the Thieves Household Cleaner my children are not exposed to harsh chemicals that are in store bought cleaners.
DIY Thieves Household Cleaner: I mix 10 drops of Thieves with 1 tablespoon of Castile Soap and 8 ounces of water in a glass spray bottle.
Not only do I use these three oils everyday. I found ways of using all of my oils everyday. I made a face cream with Frankincense and Lavender, bath salt with Stress Away (another favorite), make-up remover with Stress Away, carpet freshener with Purification, Peppermint brownies, maple Citrus Fresh sweet potatoes (friends’ recipe) and so much more. Did I mention that I haven’t had my Premium Starter Kit for a full month yet?!?!
